Wildfire Beneath the Milky Way

On one of my free days, I visited Theldeniya Old Town in Kandy, hoping to capture the Milky Way. That night, I brought my Sony A9 II camera with the Sony 16-35mm GM lens, excited to practice astrophotography. Unfortunately, the sky was mostly covered with clouds, and I wasn’t expecting much. However, I decided to wait and see if I could catch a break in the weather. As I patiently waited, I noticed a wildfire on a nearby mountain. The glowing flames contrasted beautifully with the night sky. Some clouds began to move, and suddenly, the Milky Way appeared in the background. I quickly set up my camera to capture the scene wildfire glowing beneath the majestic Milky Way. Here are the camera settings I used: Aperture: f/2.8 ISO: 1250 Shutter Speed: 30 seconds The wide aperture and long exposure allowed me to capture the faint light of the stars while keeping the wildfire’s glow vivid. This moment reminded me that even when conditions seem unfavorable, nature often has a way of surprising us. This photo is a testament to the magic of being prepared and staying patient in pursuit of the perfect shot.
