Capturing the Night Landscape of Adam’s Peak
Sometimes, patience is key in landscape photography. My recent trip to capture the night view of Adam’s Peak was a great example of this. I traveled from Colombo to Ratnapura, then from Ratnapura to Maskeliya, but heavy rain kept me from getting the shot I wanted for two whole days. I had to wait for the skies to clear, but I knew the wait would be worth it. After two days of rain, the clouds finally cleared, and I was ready to capture the beauty of Adam’s Peak at night. For this shot, I used my Sony A7RV camera with the 70-200mm GM II lens, which is perfect for capturing sharp, detailed landscapes. To keep the camera steady during the long exposure, I used my Sirui tripod. Here are the camera settings I used: Aperture: f/8 Exposure: 25 seconds ISO: 500 The 25-second exposure allowed the camera to gather enough light in the dark night sky. I set the aperture to f/8 to keep everything in focus, and I kept the ISO at 500 to reduce noise and keep the image clear. It wasn’t just about the right equipment or settings; it was about waiting for the perfect moment. The final image made all the patience and effort worth it.
